Since our inception, each member of our team has worked hard to ensure that every customer receives the same high standard of service. As such, we wanted to share an insight into how our business started and what our vision is for the future.

Our story

Jane Michel and Becky Watton formed Emphasis HR and training in 2003. Prior to this, they worked together for many years in Grant Thornton, a national firm of Chartered Accountants, providing strategic and operational HR advice and support to partners and staff.

They have many years’ experience of working with individuals and teams to develop their personal and management skills. The team at emphasis bring a strong commercial perspective to the HR arena.

They combine the commercial skills gained from being a qualified accountant or running a business with the experience of providing high-quality HR advice and training.

Our vision

The overarching vision for everyone working at emphasis is to help work with businesses to succeed through their people.

The majority of new work comes from referrals from existing clients and contacts. Jane and Becky are strong believers in the strength of long-term relationships and work hard to keep in contact with the people they meet and work with.

Knowledge sharing is actively encouraged within the team pulling on experiences gained from working in a range wide of industries and business sectors. The team works collaboratively both internally and with their clients to achieve the best solution.
